Using your uTorrent's Full Potential

Using your uTorrent's Full Potential

uTorrent also known as mircoTorrent is a small, lightweight very feature rich Peer-to-Peer download client that uses Torrent files to download the actual files from the net. It connects to the Tracker where all clients get the torrent information and based on that info, it gives you the connection to different users who have the files and then helping each other to finish the download process. We use this to download almost everything.

So here's some of my tricks on how to maximize uTorrent's Full Potential.
  • Use the RSS Downloader - I recommend to read and understand how RSS downloader works. This will help you download files by filtering it from the RSS feeds. Those feeds are from the torrent trackers that generate list of torrents published on their site. If you want to stay updated on the files you want to download let say for example a series, you can use RSS downloader to filter the series based on their name corresponds to the file.
  • Use The Bandwidth Schedule - Scheduling the utorrent's bandwidth is one thing you need to consider if you don't have enough for your network. Let say, someone's watching a Youtube video at arround 6pm and the problem is uTorrent hogs your bandwidth too much that they can't buffer any videos.. So by scheduling uTorrent's bandwidth, you can still download files while giving some internet activity  to others.
  • Queue your Downloads - If you have lots of torrent to be downloaded , try not to download them all at the same time that way, you will never get so much fragmented files in your hard drive and will enable you to finish the files faster. but if that file doesn't have enough resources or seeds, it will automatically download the next torrent queue based on the download ratio ( you can set this thing up on the uttorent's preferences)
  • The Webui - The webui is a feature of uttorent that will enable you to remote access your utorrent as if as it were the real thing via a browser. it has almost the same controls of the actual program and you can add, delete, set files priority etc. here's my webui with a custom title name and in seperate window mode.
This is my Torrent rig's Webui

If you want to activate your webui, go to your uTorrent's Options > Preferences
under preferences, click the Advanced at the left side list and under it, you'll see the Web UI
check the enable Web UI and put a Username and password information.
The guest is optional if you want to view your webui in limited mode
for advance setup, check the Alternative Lisenting port and put port 88 on it.
the rest, leave it and click OK,

to test your webui, open chrome (or any web browser) and type on the address bar: 127.0.0.1:88/gui
at first it will ask you to click to download the webui interface, after the download finished, it will refresh and a popup window will ask  your username and password, after that you will be navigate to your webui's interface.

you can use the IP of your PC to view the webui, e.g. 192.168.1.20:88/gui (assuming this is your computer's LAN IP)

for you not to enter the username and password, you can also do this:
<username>:<password>@<IPAddress>:<PORT>/gui

digitalpod21:1234@192.168.1.10:88/gui

For you to access Webui outside your network.. you can also do that but that's for the advance users. Ill tackle that next time.

to run your webui in chrome as a seperate task you can do this:
-Start > Run
-Type chrome -app=http://digitalpod21:1234@192.168.1.10:88/gui (for example) and Click OK.

You can also view your torrent progress via an Android Phone.. rtorrent is a remote control tool for transmission and utorrent clients. settin up is a breeze.. just follow the things you've done on your webui's configuration and that's it.

and the Last trick for chrome users Download the "remote torrent adder" from google app store for free.

This will enable you to send the torrent files directly to your remote torrent rig instead of saving it to your PC and uploading it to your uTorrent Webui. This is a very useful app to those who have a dedicated torrent rigs!

Earning Online...

Earning Online...

There are a lot of things for us to earn online. Most of them are from Pay-to-click partners such as neobux, Vcbux and etc.. Well I already have an account in neobux in the recent years. I just got curious on how the Pay-to-Click partners work and after a while. my account got dissolved and what I've earned on that site just vanished sad to say but oh well.. So I'm planning to try it again and this time I make sure it won't happened again.

Aside from Pay-to-clicks, here's a rather unique way of earning online. The Gomez Peer Zone is somewhat a program that checks website's activity by using your PC as its source of destination. Its like clicking a link and if its bad link or broken, you will report it to the webmaster and they will pay you for verifying those links. But in Gomez Peer, it only use your PC as the resource to check those links for availability. Well the only thing you need is to let your computer stay online as much as you can. As for me.. i have a Torrent Rig that is online for almost 24/7 and this program will help me to earn while downloading stuff.. If this thing really pays me (well I just started awhile ago so it will take time for me to get paid), it would benefit me on paying the broadband usage as well as the electricity consumed by my torrent rig.. (by the way.. its only 30W Thin Client PC).

If you want to check the Gomez Peer Zone, go to their websites by clicking here. You will find all the information for you to start Peering and earn while browsing, or should I say while online.

I'm still at the infant stage on this kind of affiliate marketing, so there are a lot of things I need to know before I can really enjoy the benefits of it. Well.. Its a start..
